Concrete skip: types, sizes and prices — Complete guide 2026

Looking for a concrete skip for a crane and don't know what capacity, discharge type or price to consider? In this guide, we'll tell you everything, based on the experience of those who have been manufacturing them in Galicia for over 20 years: types, sizes, maximum loads, 2026 price list and the most expensive mistakes you can avoid before buying.

What is a concrete skip and what is it used for?

A concrete skip (also called a concrete bucket, pan or skip) is a crane accessory designed to transport and pour fresh concrete from the concrete mixer truck to the exact point on the construction site: a wall, a pillar, a suspended slab or any area where the truck or pump cannot reach.

It is attached to the tower crane or mobile crane, filled under the concrete mixer and lifted to the pouring point, where the operator controls the discharge. It is one of the most cost-effective tools on the construction site: no pump, no waiting and with total precision in pouring.

Types of concrete skip according to discharge method

Vertical discharge

The concrete falls directly through the bottom opening. It is the fastest system for filling large formwork, slabs and foundations.

Side discharge with chute

An adjustable chute directs the concrete sideways. Essential for pouring concrete into pillars, walls and hard-to-reach areas without splashing the formwork.

Double discharge: the most versatile option

GOYDU concrete skips combine both systems: vertical and side discharge via a chute, with a rack and pinion closing system and a Ø400 mm outlet. A single skip for all construction site situations.

What skip capacity do I need? Sizes and models

The practical rule: the skip should use your crane's capacity without ever exceeding it. Remember that concrete weighs about 2,400 kg per m³, so the weight of the concrete must be added to the weight of the skip itself.

Model Capacity Height (mm) Ø (mm) Weight Max. load Price 2026
CH350LC 350 L 1,030 950 104 kg 770 kg €820 + VAT
CH500LC 500 L 1,220 950 118 kg 1,100 kg €990 + VAT
CH750LC 750 L 1,400 1,250 172 kg 1,650 kg €1,210 + VAT
CH1000LC 1,000 L 1,400 1,400 200 kg 2,200 kg €1,470 + VAT
  • 350 L → small cranes and renovations: pillars, low walls, finishing touches.
  • 500 L → the most versatile for residential construction with a medium tower crane.
  • 750 L → structures and slabs with good capacity cranes.
  • 1,000 L → civil and industrial works: maximum performance per crane cycle.

How much does a concrete skip cost in 2026?

At GOYDU we work with a public price list: from €820 + VAT (350 L) to €1,470 + VAT (1,000 L), shipping costs extra. For 5 units or more, we apply a 5% discount, and for more than 20 units, we prepare a special price.

Lightweight skip vs. reinforced skip: the data no catalog shows

Two 350 L skips may look identical in a photo. The difference is on the scales: a GOYDU CH350LC weighs 104 kg of steel, compared to ~80 kg for a standard lightweight skip. That 30% more material means thicker sheet metal, more impacts withstood, more cycles and more years on the construction site.

A lightweight skip in intensive use lasts 2-3 years. A GOYDU is built to last twice as long or more — and if it ever needs repair, our workshop in Cambre does it in days, not months. Divide the price by the years of useful life and add the cost of a single day of crane downtime: that's the real comparison between quotes.

Safety and regulations: CE marking and maximum load

Every concrete skip that is suspended from a crane in Spain must have CE marking and a declared maximum working load. At GOYDU we declare loads with a conservative criterion: we prefer the safety margin to work in favor of your equipment, not on paper. All our skips leave the workshop with CE marking and full traceability.

Frequently asked questions about concrete skips

What skip do I need for a crane with a 1,000 kg tip capacity?

A CH350LC: 350 L of concrete (~840 kg) + 104 kg for the skip = ~944 kg. A full CH500LC would exceed the tip capacity.

Can a pillar be concreted with a skip?

Yes, it's its star use: with the side discharge via a chute, the concrete is directed into the pillar formwork without splashes or losses.

Is the skip delivered ready to work?

Yes. It leaves the factory with CE marking, painted and tested. You just have to attach it to the crane.

Do you make special sizes?

Yes: we adapt the opening, chute and dimensions in our special manufacturing line.

How long does shipping take?

We ship throughout Spain from our workshop in Cambre (A Coruña). Check the delivery time according to stock and destination when requesting your quote.
